Being an IT hero means you have to be on top of the latest technology innovations. It means working hard to get around today’s constraints and stay ahead of tomorrow’s problems. The explosive data growth driven is likely creating challenges for your business and now it is driving a desire to use AI for deeper insights. You might also be facing the use of cloud initiatives and struggling to sort it all out.

How you store, analyze and protect your data is critical to gaining competitive advantage in this data-saturated business environment. In February of 2018, IBM Storage made significant announcements about how IBM offerings can help clients stay ahead of the data-driven multi-cloud challenges of today and tomorrow with a wide range of innovations to our software-defined storage (SDS), data protection and storage systems portfolio.

Here are just a few examples.

  • New product: IBM Spectrum NAS delivers a simple, low-cost, scale-out storage for common file workloads. This disruptive offering can help you optimize your NAS costs.
  • New offering: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus is now available on IBM Cloud and can help you modernize data protection in the cloud and on premises.
  • Industry standards: NVMe is a new protocol set to replace traditional SAS and SATA standards for solid state data storage. NVMe-F capabilities were introduced for IBM FlashSystem 900, IBM Spectrum Accelerate and IBM Spectrum Virtualize families. With these industry standards, you can keep pace with growing performance demands and minimize costs.
  • New security features: IBM Spectrum Protect has new ransomware detection and the ability to log and audit data for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) readiness, including across multiple clouds.
  • New data compression enhancements: TS7700 16 GB IBM FICON support and enhanced data compression are now available.
  • New online volume migration tools: Help simplify your migration from IBM XIV Gen3 to FlashSystem A9000/R.
